Squad Up
When I started the painting, I decided to use only ocean blue. It seemed fitting given their Water-type nature, and I thought it would add a sense of cohesion to the group. I also decided to go with an impressionist style. It’s a bit different than my usual approach, but I thought it would capture the light and atmosphere of the scene in a unique way.
As I worked on the painting, I couldn’t help but smile thinking about all the adventures the Squirtle Squad had in the anime. They started as villains but eventually became allies to Ash and his friends. Their playful nature and distinctive appearance have made them one of the most beloved groups in the Pokémon universe, and I wanted to capture that spirit in “Squad Up”. I hope when people see the painting, they’re reminded of the fun and playful side of Pokémon that the Squirtle Squad embodies so well.

Pearl Linen Postcard - This 3.5"x5" postcard is printed on linen, creating a almost canvas appearance. Between the linen weaves are pearlescent clusters, which increase the contrast of the art.
Holographic Poster - Printed on 8.5"x11" heavy duty card stock, these posters are dipped in holographic foil prior to printing. This enhances all of the darker tones in each painting (especially the line art), bringing subtle shards of iridescent colors when hit with direct light.
