Spectrum of Pride

Spectrum of Pride

As I stood amidst the vibrant energy of New York City, I found myself deeply moved by the world around me. This painting, "Spectrum of Pride," captures a moment that holds a special place in my heart. I remember feeling enveloped in a riot of colors, representing a celebration of identity and the joy of self-acceptance.

In this piece, I focused on a rich palette dominated by neon shades. These colors don't just signify the iconic rainbow flag of the LGBTQ+ community; they also reflect the nightlights of the city that always feels alive. By illuminating the figure from behind, I wanted to highlight the journey of self-exploration, where every individual can be the centerpiece of their own story.

The details on the figure, speckles across the back and neck, add texture and depth. They help convey the tangible emotions and sensations of that day. The posture, leaning slightly forward, communicates a sense of progression, capturing the essence of movement.

The interplay between light and dark was crucial for me. It's about representing moments of reflection and joy, all at once. As I painted, I envisioned a person stepping into a world of acceptance and celebration. The city's streets, filled with the glow of neon lights and sounds of happiness, became a canvas that mirrored the inner journey.

"Spectrum of Pride" is my tribute to that beautiful day. Through this artwork, I wanted to share a snapshot of a journey to self-discovery, set against the backdrop of an unforgettable city event. It's a piece close to my heart, a reflection of emotions, memories, and moments that shape us.
