• When art is downloaded and printed without compensation to the artist, it significantly impacts the artist's ability to make a living as a creator.

We can try, but we can't stop anyone from doing this if they really wanted to.

It's important to really think about what this means - if it becomes a normal practice for everyone, artists won't be able to afford to continue creating art.

Moonlight at the Tower

Moonlight at the Tower

In my piece “Moonlight at the Tower”, I sought to capture the ethereal presence of Ghastly near the iconic tower in Lavender Town of the Kanto region. I’ve always been fascinated by the tower’s rich history as the resting place for departed Pokémon, which made it an apt setting for a Ghost-type Pokémon like Ghastly.

I’ve read about Ghastly’s ability to envelop an opponent with its gaseous form, and I wanted to convey its elusive and fleeting nature. I was particularly drawn to how Ghastly might appear under the moonlight, almost merging with the night but still distinguishable by its haunting eyes.

The landscape is bathed in a pale teal, capturing the eerie calmness of Lavender Town after dusk. I used vibrant purples to hint at the mysterious energies said to flow from the tower and chose bright whites to highlight elements like the moon’s reflection and Ghastly’s glow. My aim was to transport the viewer to a moment that feels both serene and haunting, reminiscent of the tales surrounding Lavender Town and its ghostly inhabitant.
