I envisioned Daki as the enigmatic ruler of the entertainment district, a place where her rule was absolute, yet her presence remained a mystery wrapped in the guise of a geisha. Her dominion is a direct contrast to her impulsive nature, a characteristic that fascinated me deeply. The time and dedication it must have taken for her to ascend to such a position of power intrigued me, especially considering the dark impulses that lie beneath her composed exterior.

This painting is my attempt to capture the moment when her control slips and her true power is unleashed. The colors chosen—vibrant purples and deep reds—reflect the energy and intensity of this transformation. I paid close attention to the way light plays across her face and the ribbons, highlighting the strength and the ferocity that she embodies.
