• When art is downloaded and printed without compensation to the artist, it significantly impacts the artist's ability to make a living as a creator.

We can try, but we can't stop anyone from doing this if they really wanted to.

It's important to really think about what this means - if it becomes a normal practice for everyone, artists won't be able to afford to continue creating art.

Dream Eater

Dream Eater

In my painting “Dream Eater”, I sought to capture a pivotal moment of intensity and determination. I chose Gengar, the Shadow Pokémon, as my subject, not just because of his playful reputation, but also because of the duality he embodies. As I focused on his face, I wanted the viewer to feel the raw power of his Dream Eater attack and be drawn into the depth of those glowing eyes.

Working on this piece, I was reminded of Gengar’s multifaceted nature: both mischievous and formidable. While he’s known to prank and lurk in the shadows, there’s an undeniable presence he brings when truly engaged, and I hoped to convey that juxtaposition. The backdrop of a Pokémon League Battle felt like the perfect setting to highlight this.

This setting, where trainers showcase their bond with their Pokémon, added gravity to the scene. Through “Dream Eater”, I wanted to underscore the notion that Gengar, even with his whimsical tendencies, can dominate the stage when it truly counts.
