• When art is downloaded and printed without compensation to the artist, it significantly impacts the artist's ability to make a living as a creator.

We can try, but we can't stop anyone from doing this if they really wanted to.

It's important to really think about what this means - if it becomes a normal practice for everyone, artists won't be able to afford to continue creating art.

Crimson Against the World

Crimson Against the World

I envisioned this scene as the defining moment of Cherry Darling's transformation. In my mind, Cherry has undergone an incredible shift from her life as a dancer to that of a reluctant hero, a pivotal figure in the survival of those around her. The painting captures the intensity of this turning point, set against the backdrop of a military base, the last hope for escape from the relentless threat of the undead.

In the composition, I chose colors that would resonate with Cherry's fierce determination and the raw energy of her environment. The reds and purples are not just for visual impact; they reflect the depth of the night's events. The light behind her, reminiscent of an explosion, is symbolic of the upheaval she has faced and the sheer force of will required to confront it.

I portrayed Cherry in mid-movement, her prosthetic leg, now a machine gun, a symbol of her unique strength and the way she has repurposed her own narrative in the fight for survival. Her stance is meant to convey readiness and fortitude, her gaze fixed on the unseen horizon.
